A master of science degree in human resource development prepares students to influence the human assets of an organization to positively impact organizational outcomes. Students in this program explore the effective talent management and employee development practices used by world-class organizations. These range from excellence in recruiting and performance rewards to building a flexible workplace that is ready to adapt to change. The program is designed to provide students with the practical experience, tools, and techniques needed to successfully execute organizational strategies related to human capital, and manage and develop talent to realize a higher return on investment. This may include workforce capability, improving customer and employee retention, and forming human capital and increasing employee engagement alliances. Applicants interested in this degree are experienced human resource practitioners eager to build new competencies in training, instructional design, talent management, and employee development; managers who want to encourage employees to reach their potential; and individuals interested in starting a career in the human resource field.
