Materials Science and Engineering Graduate Program
If you have a background in physics, chemistry, computer science or engineering, RIT’s Materials Science and Engineering Graduate Program could be your next step towards a highly rewarding career. Offered jointly by the College of Science and the Kate Gleason College of Engineering, the program is designed to develop your expertise in materials selection and engineering and open up career paths in a variety of different industries including energy, medicine, and clothing and sporting equipment manufacturing.
New materials and instruments are being invented every day, so the traditional practice of empiricism to select appropriate materials is slowly becoming obsolete. Keep up with the changes in strategies and best practices in the industry and put your science background to good use. Students will learn the science behind materials development through a combination of theoretical study and experimental practice. Choose between the thesis option and project option and complete courses such as:
